About the Accordion Way Cover Set for Sherline Ball Screw Mills
The way cover set for our ball screw mills comes in two sizes: P/N 5920 is used for the 12″ and 14″ mill base models, and P/N 5958 is for the longer 18″ base mill.
The way cover material is made of polypropylene. It is durable and resilient enough to withstand the temperature of hot chips better. The material itself is 10 mil (mil=0.001″).
The front plate set is held in place with screws mounted to the front of the mill base. The two inner plates are held against each side of the saddle using two 10-32 bolts. The rear cover slips over the column and is held in place by a spring. Complete, illustrated step-by-step instructions are included, and installation takes only a few minutes.
